Statement Regarding the Colorado Wildfires
June 29 – Los Angeles – The Consul General of Israel, David Siegel, released the following statement:
"On behalf of the State of Israel I wish to express support for the people of Colorado as they face multiple wildfires. Israel stands in solidarity with the people of Colorado, just as Colorado has always stood with Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the evacuees, the first responders and all the people affected by this disaster."
In March 2011, the Colorado Legislature passed a resolution in support of the Colorado-Israel relationship. The resolution was warmly received by the government and people of Israel.
Consul General David Siegel is the official representative of the State of Israel to the Southwest United States, which includes the State of Colorado. During times of disasters, the Consulate provides support for Israeli citizens living and traveling abroad.
Consul General Siegel is planning to visit Colorado Springs in July.
