President Peres' Ramadan Greeting to the Muslim World
In a press conference for Arab media on Tuesday (July 26), Israeli President Shimon Peres offered a greeting to the Muslim world and to the Muslim citizens of Israel:

"I use this platform as President of Israel to send Ramadan greetings to the millions of Muslims in Israel and throughout the world. As in years past, millions of Muslims around the world, in the Middle East, and in Israel are preparing to start the month of Ramadan, a month of fasting, prayer, and spirituality. The month is dedicated to introspection, spiritual practices, quality time with friends and family, and time to consider the present and future - as individuals and collectively. This year there is an additional significance to the soul searching of Ramadan - the Arab world around us is changing. Young people are demanding their freedom, social welfare, and prosperity. The younger generation wants change. I wish the younger generation in Arab countries success in creating a better society, more open, and more prosperous. Ramadan Kareem."
