Formula Jerusalem — A Peace Journey
Formula 1 cars and Grand Prix motorcycles will be arriving in Jerusalem in June for a special event aimed at highlighting peace and coexistence: “Formula Jerusalem — A Peace Journey.”
The vehicles will be showcased in the capital starting June 9.
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, himself a race car driver who has taken part in races in Israel and around the world, expressed his excitement about the event: "The planned track is beautiful and attractive, and brings together the Old City walls and Jerusalem's other unique views and one of the most popular sports events in the world."
Similar showcases have been hosted in New York, Moscow, Sao Paulo and Macau.
"Jerusalem joins other leading cities in hosting the event, which attracts hundreds of thousands of people and will bring a significant economic boost to the city and to its international image," said Barkat.
