Haifa University and UC Irvine sign agreement on cooperation.

As part of a major upsurge in cooperation between the University of California Irvine and Israel's academic establishments, UCI Chancellor Michael V. Drake yesterday (May 9) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation with the Rector of Haifa University, Professor David Faraggi. The two discussed the mutual interest of both universities in establishing cooperation in different fields. During his stay at UC Irvine, Professor Faraggi also met with the Dean of the Samueli School of Engineering, Professor Gregory Washington, the Dean of the School of Medicine, Professor Ralph Clayman, the Dean of the Physical Sciences, Professor Ken Janda and the Assistant Dean of Development at the School of Law, Professor Charles Cannon. Professor Faraggi discussed with his interlocutors different avenues for collaboration in numerous fields, including medicine, law, mathematics and conflict management. This agreement is the latest in a long list of collaborations recently established between UCI and Israel's universities, which have come to be known collectively as the I.T. League, signifying their exceptional achievements as hubs of innovation, high tech and information technology.
