Consulate General of Israel participates in USC Conference on Public Diplomacy, May 3, 2013
Deputy Consul General of Israel in Los Angeles, Dr. Uri Resnick, joined Professor Manuel Castells of the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, Ms. Naomi Leight, Assistant Director for Research and Publications at the USC Center for Public Diplomacy and Mr. Behar Xharra, Balkans Analyst with the Navanti Group, in exploring different aspects of "Public Diplomacy in Conflict Zones". Israel's public diplomacy challenges, as a democratic, pluralistic and technologically advanced state forced to contend with prolonged security related issues, were analyzed and discussed. As Resnick concluded, though in many ways facing "an uphill battle", Israel has proved remarkably adept in successfully addressing such challenges, among other things through humanitarian activity and technological innovation.
