The
Cardamon Quartet
World
Music
The
Cardamon quartet is a unique phenomenon in the Jewish
music world. It blends Kleizmer and Israeli folk music
with other influences from the Mediterranean area, such
as Turkish, Arabic and Greek music. The rare
combination, together with Cuban, Brazilian and Jazz
rhythms, brings to life some of Israel's pioneer songs,
as well as the quartet's original compositions.

Amir
Gutfreund “Our Holocaust”
Award-winning
Israeli Author, Amir Gutfreund, mixes humor and pathos
in his first novel translated into English ”Our
Holocaust”. "Even if I write an instruction
manual for a washing machine, it will always contain
humor, and it will always contain the Holocaust. It's a
part of me."Amir Gutfreund. It is this combination
of the mundane, the humorous, and the horrific that give
“Our Holocaust” its unique power. Throughout this
enthralling tale, part autobiography, part novel,
Gutfreund uses humor and keen psychological insight to
guide us through the topsy-turvy world of a child
growing up within a family and neighborhood where all
the authority figures he knows have been damaged by the
greatest horror the world has ever known: the Holocaust.

Zimbalista
Chen
Zimbalista waltzes around the stage with his marimba,
vibraphone, drums and other percussion instruments,
cajoling an enchanting array of rhythmic sounds from
instruments usually relegated to the rear of the
orchestra pit. He is Chen Zimbalista, Israel’s only
solo percussionist. Zimbalista’s music defies
classification and is a smorgasbord of classical, blues,
jazz and soft rock. He has performed in Holland, Italy,
Germany, Portugal, the United States and China.

Morena Amoora
Elina
Pechersky and Neta Shezaf's work emphasizes the similarities
between the two dance traditions, and the beauty within
the differences. The performance, that is accompanied
by live musicians consists of solo pieces performed
according to each of the dancers unique style, as well
as out of fascinating duets, set as dialogues that enhance
the meeting between both dance traditions: the Arab
and the Spanish. Morena Amoora is a good example for
a co-existence between Arab and Jewish artists. Israel
is a meeting point of many different cultures and Morena
Amoora brings up this richness on the stage.
Morena Amoora was first performed at the Women's Festival
in Hulon Israel, and was shown on Israel's main stages
ever since. The performance was included in Israel's
major dance festivals and abroad, among which, the Israel
Festival- Jerusalem, the Spring International Festival
in Kyiv Ukraine, Curtain Up / International Exposure
Dance Festival- the Suzan Dellal Center, Tel Aviv, the
Carmiel International Dance Festival, the millennium
event in St. Moritz- Switzerland, a performing tour
In USA-2004: NY, Houston- Texas, Savannah -Georgia and

“Art
of Living” by Adi Nes
Meticulously
staged photography, a wealth of details and references.
In a tradition similar to Jeff Wall, Nes composes
densely charged photographic tableaus: scenes from the
life of a soldier and from the everyday life of young (Mizrahim)
men, whose bodies show beauty, passivity and
vulnerability. Adi was born in 1966, studied photography
from 1989 to 1992 at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and
Design in Jerusalem. From 1996 to 1997 he studied
multimedia at the Sivan Computer School, Department of
Multimedia &
Programming
in Tel Aviv. Adi Nes belongs to the artist generation of
the nineties, who especially address issues of gender
identity. Some of these young artists take a
post-Zionist approach that is expressed in the
destruction of myths and other "sacred cows"
in relation to the Israeli army.
