Population Registry

By law, an Israeli Citizen must inform the Ministry of Interior of any changes in his/her personal status (i.e. marriage, divorce or widowhood).

Be advised, a rabbinical marriage or divorce performed in Israel does not require the constituents to inform the Ministry of Interior. Instead, the rabbi in charge of performing the marriage/divorce will update the Ministry of Interior himself.

An Israeli citizen living abroad must notify the Consulate of any changes in personal status.
