Tel Aviv-Yafo celebrates 100 years As the city of Tel Aviv-Yafo prepares to mark its 100th anniversary in early April 2009, a wide array of events are being planned for the centennial celebrations, including outdoor festivals, art shows, sporting events, historic exhibitions and numerous community projects, among others. 
18th Maccabiah to be held in July 2009 The 18th Maccabiah, which will be held from July 12-23, 2009, will be the largest ever, with approximately 5,300 athletes from abroad and approximately 2,000 more from Israel expected to participate.
